2018 SEMA Battle of the Builders Sponsorship

The 2018 SEMA Show was a spectacular event, outperforming years past. With over 162,000 attendees and 2,400 exhibiting companies this truly was the world’s largest global gathering of car enthusiasts. With over 1,500 custom feature vehicles on display at this year’s show there is always a sight to see at every turn!

Schrader was pleased to sponsor 22 vehicles throughout the show. These vehicles were built by independent builders competing in The Battle of the Builders. This is an annual contest that has been taking place for the past 5 years and it continues to grow year over year. The competition presents a rare opportunity for builders to judge and be judged by the greatest names in the industry, and it has attracted passionate builders from nearly every continent. The vehicles displayed are among the highest quality in the world. They come from seasoned teams of professionals as well as one-man shops with small budgets.

Two of the vehicles we sponsored made highlights at this year’s show!

This 2019 Veloster was selected as one of 10 finalists to win the coveted Golden Ticket invitation to participate in the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational. The race was held on November 3-4that the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the Top Gun team pushed the vehicle to its limits! The Veloster was equipped with our Adjustable Angle EZ-sensor® #33700 that is rated for speeds over 200 MPH. Members of our team visited with builder Jorge Ramos from Top Gun Performance and are holding his invitation!

Battle of the builders 3This vehicle was voted Best Jeep Build at the show by Truck Hero! Built by Projekt Car’s, who have built over 200 vehicles for SEMA since 2015, this vehicle sure lives up to their high standard of quality vehicles! We supplied our Rubber Snap-In EZ-sensor® 33500 to outfit this award winning Jeep.

Another one of our favorite featured vehicles is this 1979 Datsun, built by father son duo The Custom Shop. John Wargo and his Son Brandon (pictured left) built two vehicles for this year’s show. The Datsun features our new solar powered TPMS Retrofit Kit that provides the safety benefits of TPMS on vehicles that are not originally equipped.

At the end of the show all of the vehicles that were on display are driven out of the halls and featured in the SEMA Cruise. This post show event gives attendees the opportunity to take a look at the many vehicles that could have been seen around the show.
